Second NES CSDSI winter school will be held in Suzdal (Vladimirskaya oblast) from 8 till 13 of December 2014.
The school is organized by NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social
Interactions under the project of the RF Government grant No.U04.31.0002.
The academic director of the winter school is the Academic Head of the NES CSDSI
Professor Shlomo Weber. The lecturers are Prof. Joan Esteban (IAE, CSIC and
Barcelona GSE), Prof. Ted Gerber (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Prof. Jean-Philippe Platteau (Université de Namur), and Prof. Eyal Winter (The Hebrew
University of Jerusalem).
The topics of the winter school lectures are:
• Migration and it’s impact on the economic development;
• Social conflict and economic development;
• Why inefficient institutions exists?
The participants of the school Participants of the school are 25-30 young faculty from regional Russian universities. Application form, brief statement of research paper for the presentation at the school, and CV (in English) should be submitted to diversity@nes.ru before September 30, 2014.
Invited participants will be informed before October 5, 2014. Limited number of
travel grants will be given. The accommodation and meal will be provided for invited participants.
